Job Opening: Night Emergency Veterinarian (M/F) - Villenave-d'Ornon 33 We are hiring a Night Emergency Veterinarian (M/F) to join a veterinary clinic located in Villenave-d'Ornon, Gironde, as part of a private practice partnership. Clinic Overview This 2,100 m² veterinary clinic is dedicated exclusively to referral and specialty canine medicine. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technical resources, including advanced imaging (CT and MRI), six operating rooms, extensive hospitalization capacity, and fifteen examination rooms. Services cover numerous specialties, including surgery, ophthalmology, reproduction, neurology, dermatology, internal medicine, oncology, and brachytherapy. The multidisciplinary team is large and well-organized, comprising twenty-nine veterinarians—including nine specialists—twenty-three veterinary technicians, eight receptionists, and two animal care technicians. The Emergency and Continuous Care Department operates with a day shift and a night shift to ensure continuity of care. Finally, the town of Villenave-d’Ornon offers a pleasant living environment near Bordeaux, with amenities and easy access to major roads. JobDescription and Responsibilities You will play an essential role in managing emergency and intensive care, ensuring the continuity and safety of care for hospitalized patients. Your responsibilities will include: - Admit and assess emergency patients, ranging from routine cases to life-threatening emergencies - Manage common cases such as traffic accidents, feline urinary syndromes, dyspnea, acute digestive disorders, poisonings, wounds, and hemorrhages - Implement stabilization and resuscitation protocols in collaboration with referring veterinarians - Perform emergency procedures: imaging, IV placement, anesthesia, monitoring, intensive care, and continuous surveillance - Monitor overnight hospitalizations, supervise post-operative animals, and relay information to the day shift team to ensure continuity of care - Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and the medical team to organize patient care and optimize the quality of care Compensation For this position, you will receive a fixed rate per shift worked, supplemented by a variable component equal to 7% (excluding tax) of the revenue (excluding tax) generated.
