In our implantologist fact sheet, we had covered all the professional aspects of an implantologist's career, from the necessary studies to the required skills, but had only briefly touched on the subject of his or her role. That's why we're devoting an entire article to this aspect. Criteria affecting implantologists' salaries
Many factors determine the salary of an implantologist :

In large cities or regions with strong purchasing power, incomes are higher, but so is the cost of living. Moreover, regions with high demand entail limited competition and can offer more attractive salaries.
- The status : whether you work as a salaried or freelance implantologist changes your income. In fact, libéraux implantologists can set their rates freely in return for the tax and administrative burden of the premises they occupy.
- La spécialisation : depending on the academic background chosen, the implantologist will be considered either a general dental surgeon with implantology skills, or a specialized implantologist recognized as such. This distinction will play an important role in the level of recognition, as specialists are highly sought after.

Additional benefits and compensation
In addition to salary, implantologist job offersmay offer certain benefits:
- Freelance implantologists : as explained above, freelance implantologists have the opportunity to set their own fees, which can lead to significantly higher incomes than salaried employees. However, they must manage the administration and taxation of their business.
- Salaried implantologistsés : salaried implantologists bénéficient a stable income and a constant patientèle. While their incomes are lower than those of their freelance peers, they are better protected and don't have to worry about anything other than their medical practice.
International comparison of salaries
The salaries of implantologistsvary considerably worldwide. In England, for example, the average annual salary of an implantologist is around $80,000, while in Canada it is $150,000 to $200,000. While these figures may seem interesting at first glance, they are of little interest when taken out of the country's economic and social context. The functioning of the health system or the cost of living are so variable that, at the same salary, these implantologists will not live under the same conditions.
As you can imagine, implantologists' salaries depend on all the factors listed above. It can sometimes be difficult to keep track, and even more so to master the variables in question, not all of which depend on the doctor. On the other hand, the motivated and patient implantologist will be sure to increase his or her income throughout a rewarding career!
