An optics laboratory located in Paris's 1st arrondissement is seeking a forward-thinking new workshop manager (M/F) for a permanent position.

The Company
You will join an optics laboratory located in the heart of Paris, in the Châtelet district, easily accessible by public transportation. This is a leading facility in Europe, capable of manufacturing between 400 and 500 pairs per day to supply a national network. Compensation
- Salary ranging from €3,200 to €4,200 gross per month, to be determined based on your profile and experience
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily production of progressive lenses for the entire national network
- Plan, monitor, and control production to meet scheduled deadlines and volume targets
- Ensure the compliance of lens assemblies: axes, centering, coatings, and specifications
- Monitor the lab’s performance metrics: orders processed, breakage rate, delays, compliance rate
- Manage the lab’s inventory: lenses, frames, consumables, accessories, tools, and packaging
- Oversee the receipt, recording, storage, and shipment of goods
- Anticipate stockouts and coordinate with the procurement department
- Organize and oversee workshop inventory counts
- Maintain order and cleanliness in storage and assembly areas
- Check finished products for compliance before shipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on laboratory equipment
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and risk prevention regulations
- Manage and supervise the workshop team on a daily basis
- Assign tasks and manage schedules, breaks, absences, and time off
- Lead weekly team meetings
- Participate in the recruitment of employees in collaboration with Human Resources
- Onboard, train, and certify employees on progressive assembly techniques and next-generation machinery
- Monitor individual and team performance and conduct annual performance reviews
- Facilitate skills development and provide on-the-job coaching
- Serve as the quality liaison for the laboratory and analyze nonconformities to implement corrective actions
- Serve as the liaison between the lab, technical service providers, IT departments, maintenance, and network management
- Temporarily assist a warehouse manager with operational aspects related to production
- Propose improvements to performance, customer satisfaction, and the laboratory’s results
