An optical store in Ixelles, Brussels, is looking for a new Store Manager (M/F) for a permanent position.
Requirements
- Permanent contract
- Full-time
- Monday through Saturday
- 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (flexible schedule)
- 39 hours per week, no Sundays
The Company
You’ll join a French optical retail chain focused on affordability, fast service, and high-quality advice. Additionally, the concept prioritizes high volume and a structured customer experience in high-traffic stores. The teams are multidisciplinary and consist of sales staff, opticians, and assistants, with store management ensuring sales performance and compliance with internal processes.
Compensation
- €3,000 gross/month x 13
- Up to €2,500 gross/month in variable bonuses
- Estimated annual average of €57,000 gross
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of approximately 20 employees
- Supervise, support, and develop the teams’ skills
- Organize schedules and assign tasks
- Oversee the sales performance of the retail location
- Monitor key performance indicators such as revenue, conversion rate, average basket size, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure quality of service and the in-store customer experience
- Ensure that internal processes are properly followed
- Manage customer flow in the store
- Oversee the opening and closing of the retail location
- Manage inventory on an operational basis
- Submit reports to regional management
- Coach teams on assisted sales and conversion rates
- Maintain a high level of service in a high-traffic environment

- Experience in a high-traffic retail environment, with a background at chains such as Free, Mango, Zara, or equivalent
- Proven experience managing teams of 10 to 20 people
- Proven on-the-ground leadership and ability to unite teams
- Proficiency with retail KPIs such as conversion rates, average basket size, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Strong customer focus and operational rigor
- Fluency in French is required
