    • Disposal of medical waste: Disposal of medical waste in accordance with protocols.
  • Maintenance
    • Inventory and ordering : managing dental supply stocks, checking stock levels and ordering if necessary.
    • Équipements : maintain dental equipment in working order, report any malfunctions. 

Training and qualifications required to become a dental assistant

Pathways to the profession

To become a dental assistant, you need to have a minimum level of schooling equivalent to the brevet des collèges. However, some training centers may require a Baccalaureate level.

Once schooling is completed, those wishing to pursue study to become a dental assistant must attend a training center specialized in dental assistants.   • Polyvalent  health centers: the dental assistant works in coordination with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Dental clinics : the DA assists practitioners who are more specialized than elsewhere and learns to work with state-of-the-art equipment.
  • The hôpitaux : l’AD collaborates with côtés of dental surgeons spécialisés. He participates in complex procedures and in the care of hospitalized patients.
  • Training centers : the’AD helps à train future dental assistants.

Dental assistant salary

The salary of a dental assistantvaries according to experience, geographical location and the type of structure in which he or she works.
